Class Descriptions

This class is aimed for 3 to 5 year olds who have never played tennis before. Once students have gained the ability to hit and catch ten balls in a row, they will progress to the Red Ball 1 & 2 Class. Please be aware that parents must be present during this 30 minute class.

In Red Ball 1 Class, students will play on the 36’ court and will learn “ins and outs” of 10 ball hit and hit progressions. Students will also play in Red Ball competitive matches to prepare for “Red Ball JGPT” play. Once the student has completed a Red Ball JGPT event, they will move into Red Ball 2 Class.

Orange Ball Class is played on a 60’ court and students will progress to a 25” racquet. Orange Ball 1 Class focuses on key fundamental tennis skills. To graduate from the Orange Ball 1 Class to the Orange Ball 2 Class, players must accomplish the following benchmarks: drop hit 10 forehands and 10 backhands in a row from 60’ line, serve 10 balls in a row into each service box from 1/2 court and learn our Round Robin Tournament format. To graduate from the Orange Ball 2 Class, players will need to understand USTA Orange Ball scoring rules, serve and play a full set of tennis with regular scoring, hit and hit 10 forehands and 10 backhands in a row crosscourt with a peer, and play in multiple USTA Orange Ball tournaments. Advancement to the Green Ball Class is at the discretion of the instructor

In this class, students will be playing on a regulation-size court and with either a 26” or 27” long racquet. The class emphasizes technique, strategy, footwork and endurance. To graduate to Green Ball 2 Class, students must accomplish the following benchmarks: serve 10 Green balls in a row in to each service box from full court, hit 10 drop and hit backhands in a row cross-court, and play in a Green Ball JGPT event.
To graduate from Green Ball 2 Class to Yellow Ball Class, players will need to serve and play a 10-point tiebreaker, serve and play a full set of tennis with regular scoring, hit and hit 10 forehands and 10 backhands in a row crosscourt with a peer, and play in multiple USTA Green Ball tournaments

To join this class, players will need to be able to play a full set of tennis with regular scoring, sustain rallies of at least 10 shots with a peer, and commit to playing in USTA Green and Yellow tournaments. Yellow Ball students will pursue USTA Junior Ranking.

This class is designed for players that are part of their High School JV and Varsity Tennis teams. This class emphasizes consistency, conditioning, strategy and match preparation. Our goal is to provide these players with the necessary tools to succeed during their high school matches.
