A Legacy Rooted in Vision
Step back in time to 1963, when visionary Ben Carpenter dreamt of a thriving community. The centerpiece? Las Colinas Country Club, rising from the land once known as El Ranchito de Las Colinas (The Little Ranch of the Hills). Renowned architect Joe Finger transformed this scenic terrain into a golfer's paradise, laying the foundation for the Club's enduring legacy.
A Balanced Challenge for All
Renowned architect Joe Finger meticulously designed the Las Colinas Country Club course with respect for the natural landscape. His philosophy? To create a balanced challenge that seamlessly integrates with the rolling terrain and caters to golfers of all skill levels. This commitment to accessibility continues to resonate today.
A Brush with History
Finger's dedication to the project wasn't without its unexpected moments. One day, while inspecting the greens, he encountered a sight straight out of the past: a herd of angry Brahman steers charging towards him, chased by ranch hands! "Carpenter wasn't a golfer," Finger recalled with a chuckle, "so his cattle came first. Thankfully, everyone, including the course, emerged unscathed." Decades later, Carpenter's vision of a thriving community has come to life, with residents replacing the cattle.
